The insurance business in Italy is booming. The non-life segment posted a 7.4% increase in the first nine months of 2024 to 34 billion euros, marking the 15th consecutive positive quarterly change. The life segment, on the other hand, saw more pronounced growth (+18.9%), recovering from declines over the past three years, with premiums written reaching 118 billion euros, the highest level since 2010. In life, total inflows were 83.7 billion euros. Distribution channels saw growth in financial advisers, with a significant increase in the sale of individual policies, particularly unit-linked policies. The increase in non-life premiums written (+7.4% to 34 billion euros) involved both the non-motor component, which grew 5.9% to 20 billion euros in premiums, and the motor segment (+10.4%), which recorded premiums of 14.1 billion euros. Finally, in the non-motor sector there is a slight increase in the incidence of Health and Property and a decrease in General Liability.
