The world's best organic extra virgin olive oil is from Tuscany. The BIOL 2025 Prize crowned Sergenti, from the I Sergenti farm in Reggello, in the province of Florence. The competition, which featured 507 oils from 18 countries, awarded second place to Mimì oil from the Apulian company Donato Conserva, winner of the last edition, and third place to Jasa Cuvée from the Slovenian company Jasa Prestige. The jury of 35 international experts evaluated the oils through sensory and technical analysis. Among the special prizes, the BIOLKIDS went to Masoni Becciu Cuncordu Sardinian oil, chosen by a jury of very young people between the ages of 7 and 15, while the BIOLPACK for best packaging was awarded to Laurel & Flame Premium Olympia PGI Greek oil. The BIOL Award was established in 1996 to celebrate and promote the quality of organically grown oil and related territories and support biodiversity. Over these three decades, the award has established itself as the most important international event in the organic extra virgin olive oil sector in terms of number of olive producers involved, countries of origin of oils, number of juror experts and consumers involved.
