According to the German specialized magazine Caravaning, the greatest campsite in Europe is in Italy, specifically in Veneto. The rating is based on the opinions of experts and tourists who have stayed at the facilities. The first place winner is the International Club Camping of Jesolo, a five-star campsite managed by Jesolo Turismo Spa. Among the more than 25,000 European campsites, Caravaning has conducted a detailed analysis of the 200 facilities that have received the "Superplatz 2025" award, which is awarded annually based on the evaluations of the very strict Adac (Automobile Club of Germany) inspectors who visit the campsites and judge them on hundreds of different criteria. This is the only international ranking that takes into account both expert and guest opinions: the same people who choose and evaluate European campsites. Italy has 40 award-winning facilities, the majority of which are located on the Veneto coast.
