On the occasion of National Women's Health Day, President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella draws attention to a crucial issue: “Marked health inequalities that penalize women still persist”. Despite the strides made, the Head of State stresses, much remains to be done to ensure equitable access to care and health care pathways that are truly adapted to women's specificity. Among the priorities, according to Mattarella, are the strengthening of gender medicine, greater investment in research, prevention and training of professionals. A concept also shared by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who reiterates the government's commitment on the prevention front, starting with the extension of mammography screening to the 45-49 and 70-74 age groups. The issue of fertility is also central: the government has allocated 3.5 million euros for awareness campaigns on ovarian reserve testing.
