More than 40 thousand more cars than during the same period in 2023: this is the figure that tells of the tourist assault that hit Sirmione during the May Day break. The town on Lake Garda, famous for its castle and thermal waters, was literally invaded by visitors, so much so that the image of a compact crowd blocked at the entrance to the historic center went viral. A scene that is repeated every year with the arrival of the summer season, but this time it sparked again the debate on how to manage increasingly unmanageable flows. Mayor Luisa Lavelli has initiated talks with the Prefecture of Brescia to evaluate quota measures, while the hypothesis of an access tax to the center, on the model already adopted in other tourist resorts, is gaining momentum.
