Milan's Anti-Mafia District Directorate has opened an investigation for attempted murder and illegal possession of weapons after an ambush yesterday in Via Imbriani on the northern outskirts of the city. Luca Guerrini, 27, an ultras of Milan and close to Luca Lucci, leader of the Curva Sud currently in jail, ended up in the crosshairs. Guerrini was the target of three gunshots while in his car, but managed to escape unharmed. The weapon, a modified black gun, jammed on the third shot. According to the Mobile Squad's reconstruction, two men on a scooter approached the vehicle and opened fire. Inside the car, officers found a large flag and a banner of the Milan stand. Guerrini, already the recipient of a Daspo and with a history of theft, had been involved in the case of the intimidating banner posted under the house of Inter soccer player Federico Dimarco in 2023. The ambush is part of the broader context of the investigations into Milan's stands, which today see a double judicial appointment in the Piazza Filangieri bunker courtroom: Luca Lucci will be heard again in the closed-door trial in which he is also charged for the attempted murder of ultra supporter Enzo Anghinelli in 2019. At the same time, Mauro Russo, the former face of the Curva Nord and an alleged middleman in an extortion related to the parking business around the stadium, will be questioned. The investigations, coordinated by prosecutors Paolo Storari and Sara Ombra, aim to shed light on the new balances among ultras after Lucci's arrest and on illicit trafficking connected to the world of organized supporters.
