Francesco Bagnaia's race at the French MotoGP went off immediately: the reigning world champion ended up in the gravel on the first lap after a contact with Enea Bastianini and closed sadly in 16th place. Another heavy setback in the title race, with further points lost in the standings. Instead, it was Johann Zarco who shone, putting on a show and winning in front of his home crowd his first win of the season, the second in his MotoGP career after Phillip Island 2023. The Honda LCR team rider made the most of the unstable weather conditions, choosing rain tires and imposing a pace unmatched by anyone. Second place for Marc Marquez, author of a shrewd race with the official Ducati: the Spaniard consolidated the lead, taking advantage of the withdrawal of his brother Alex after two crashes in the final stages. Now the lead in the standings between the two has risen to 22 points. Splendid third place for young Fermin Aldeguer, who took his first podium in MotoGP at the end of a flawless race.
