Starting in June, Central Public Administration employees will receive pay raises of up to 480 euros a month, thanks to a government intervention that has allocated 190 million euros to close the gap in ancillary pay between ministries. The aim is to equalize bonuses, rewards and incentives to the highest level currently recorded, namely that of the tax agencies, where the average ancillary salary reaches 6,724 euros a year, or about 560 euros a month. The increases will be in addition to the recent 6% increase provided for in the three-year contract renewal, with an additional 3.15% average increase. The exact amounts will be determined through supplementary bargaining and will vary depending on the ministry to which they belong. The main problem concerns the great inequality in overall economic treatments due to the variability of the accessory salary. Indeed, if the basic salary in the central PA is the same by qualification, it is the funds available in individual ministries that make the difference. This has resulted in a real divide between "rich ministries", such as the Internal Revenue Service and Monopolies, and "poor ministries", such as Justice, which has seen a worrying exodus of officials to higher-paying administrations over the years. According to simulations by the State Accounting Office, the Ministry of Justice will receive the largest increase, with an expected increase of 480 euros per month. This is followed by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, with 465 euros, and the Ministry of the Interior, with 401 euros. The Environment is expected to receive an increase of 310 euros, Labor 283 euros, and Foreign Affairs 240 euros. The differences will be less marked for ministries such as Culture and Made in Italy, which will receive increases of 78 and 83 euros, respectively, while for Health the adjustment will be minimal, amounting to only 3 euros. Finally, no increase is planned for employees in the ministries of Economy and Tourism, which already exceed the benchmark.
