In an ever-changing labor market, the mismatch between the skills required by companies and those available remains one of the main obstacles for the Italian production system. Suffering in particular is the mechanical sector, where companies struggle to find specialized technical figures, undermining their ability to innovate and develop. According to the data, more than 68% of technical profiles - such as mechanics, maintenance workers and fitters - are now considered difficult to find, a percentage that rises to 73% among young people under 30 years of age. The main causes are a shortage of candidates (78%) and training that is often not adapted to production needs (16%). A possible answer to this critical issue comes from the ITS Academy (Higher Technological Institutes) system, which shows very positive employment performance: 84% of graduates find work within a year of graduation, and in 93% of cases in fields consistent with the training course. A result that testifies to the effectiveness of post-diploma technical education in reducing the mismatch between labor supply and demand. Confirming the growing interest, ITS training offerings increased by 28.9% in just one year, and compared to 2013, active courses increased fivefold.
