A new night train will be introduced in July, which will re-propose - in a tourist-friendly manner - the convenience of the great international trains that have since disappeared. The Espresso Riviera is resuming operations this summer, providing a direct connection between Rome, Genoa, and western Liguria and the Côte d'Azur, culminating in Marseille. The train will connect Rome to France as well as Monte Carlo, making it essentially an international tourist route. The service will operate every Friday from Roma Termini and arrive in Marseille on Saturday. The return journey is expected to leave Marseille on Saturday and arrive in Rome on Sunday morning. In addition to Genoa Piazza Principe, the new connection will stop in Savona, Alassio, Imperia, Sanremo, and Ventimiglia before continuing to the French Riviera, where it will stop at the following locations: Menton, Monaco - Montecarlo, Nice, Cannes, St. Raphael, and Toulon before arriving at Marseille. Comfort will be guaranteed thanks to the spacious lounges, first and second class seating, and restaurant service that is available throughout the ride.
