The MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) sector confirms itself as one of the most dynamic and strategic sectors of international tourism. This is evidenced by data presented by ENIT at IMEX in Frankfurt, Europe's leading trade fair, which is scheduled until May 22 and is dedicated to business tourism. According to the National Tourism Agency, in 2024 Italy recorded a significant increase in international flows related to MICE tourism. About 340,000 foreign travelers arrived to participate in congresses (+22.7 percent compared to 2023), while 500,000 visited the country at trade fairs (+18.3 percent). Overnight stays are also on the rise: 1 million 152 thousand related to congresses (+14.5 percent) and 1 million 594 thousand related to fairs (+18.4 percent). The economic impact is equally significant, with tourism spending reaching 270 million euros for congress travel (+20 percent) and 530 million (+27.7 percent) for trade fairs.
