In 2024, the Italian economy recorded limited growth to 0.7 percent, confirming the slowdown already observed the previous year. Weak domestic demand and falling investment, particularly in the housing sector, are the main drivers of little growth. France and Spain are doing better, while Germany is still retreating. According to ISTAT, which presented its Annual Report to the Chamber of Deputies today, Italy's recovery remains fragile and uneven, also penalized by an uncertain global environment and international trade tensions.
