Leonardo, Italy's leading defense industry, returns to the stock market, at 51 euros (+2.2%), on the day it cashes in on a maxi-contract from Malaysia to supply 28 helicopters for government use. The announcement by the group led by Roberto Cingolani and local partner Weststar Aviation Services came during the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition that opened Tuesday. The total amount of the order was not specified, but in recent months the local and trade press had estimated its value at around $3.5 billion. The program includes several Leonardo helicopter models, in a mix of orders and options, with deliveries expected mainly in the period 2026-2027. The supply will cover the Police and Fire Department for public order, transportation, rescue and Civil Defense missions.
