Last Saturday, two Italian mountaineers died in an avalanche on the Alphubel, located near Täsch in the Swiss Alps. They are Giorgia Rota, 29, of Cesano Maderno (MB), and Alessandro Aresi, 30, of Lacchiarella (MI). The cantonal police have formally recognized them. The two young mountaineering enthusiasts were swept away at about 4,165 meters while ascending toward the summit. According to the reconstruction, they left the Täsch shelter at dawn on May 17 to begin the climb. The snow pile suddenly detached at around 4,000 meters. Rescue services responded quickly, but there was nothing they could do for the two. The Swiss prosecutors' office has launched an investigation into the incident. Rota, a laboratory chemist, frequently expressed her love of nature and trekking on social media, often alongside Aresi, who worked for a professional video firm in the agricultural sector. On her Instagram profile “Giorgiafacose", she had called Alessandro her “super partner for a super climb” in a May 10 post about a previous hike
