It is an exhibition that was supposed to take place in 2020, but instead in that year the artist died in a car accident, along with his wife Alexandra. "James Brown. I want to know" reconnects the threads of a tragic fate, bringing the Bonomo sisters, Alessandra and Valentina, back to an appointment that fate did not allow to be fulfilled, the one with the exhibition of the American in their two galleries. Thus, from May 27 to September 30, at Galleria Alessandra Bonomo and Galleria Valentina Bonomo in Rome, that cycle of works that James Brown had made in 2019 in the studio of Cy's son Alessandro Twombly in Bassano in Teverina near Viterbo, and which to the two Roman sisters he had brought in person to the gallery, will finally be on view. The title, "I want to know", refers to an intercalation typical of the American artist, who was always leaning toward an understanding of all phenomena, as far as possible. The exhibition consists of the cycle "My other house", which refers to a hovel on Mr. and Mrs. Brown's property on their property in Mexico (they had moved there in 1995), where their children loved to play. That hut would later be chosen by the artist as his studio.
