Lando Norris secured his second victory of the season by winning the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix, following his initial triumph in Australia. The McLaren driver defeated Charles Leclerc at the end of the classic 78-lap street circuit, in an intense and strategic race marked by the mandatory double pit stop. The other McLaren, driven by Oscar Piastri, finished third and remains the World Championship leader, but his lead over Norris has been trimmed to three points. For McLaren, led by Italian team principal Andrea Stella, this marks a return to victory in the Principality that has not occurred since 2008, when Lewis Hamilton triumphed. Hamilton, now with Ferrari, finished fifth behind Max Verstappen, who dropped to fourth after a pit stop on the final lap. Excellent performance by rookie Isack Hadjar (Racing Bulls), who finished sixth ahead of Esteban Ocon (Haas) and Liam Lawson. Alexander Albon and Carlos Sainz concluded the top ten in the two Williams. The Mercedes weekend was disappointing: George Russell finished eleventh, while Andrea Kimi Antonelli finished seventeenth. The Brackley team's plans were criticized for prolonging pit stops and using hard tires at the start, despite the fact that starting in the middle of the grid suggested a more aggressive approach.
