Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz will make their Roland Garros 2025 debuts today. The world number one will begin his Parisian adventure in the evening session, not before 8:15 p.m., on Philippe Chatrier against Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech, currently ranked 72nd in the ATP standings. Their only previous meeting on clay, in Lyon in 2021, saw Rinderknech prevail, but Sinner leads 2–1 in head-to-head encounters. However, regardless of the outcome in Paris, the Italian is already certain to preserve his position at the top of the rankings. Alcaraz, the defending champion, will instead face Giulio Zeppieri, a qualifier, in the second match from 11 a.m. on Suzanne-Lenglen. The young Spaniard hopes to join Rafael Nadal and Gustavo Kuerten as the only players to win at least two consecutive editions of the French Slam in the new millennium. At 22 years and one month, he would also enter the top five youngest multiple winners in Paris, after Borg, Nadal, Wilander, and Courier.
