Great public participation for the 20th edition of the Trento Festival of Economics, from May 22 to 25, which in more than 300 events had a total attendance of 40,000. A success also testified by the number of guests: 650 national and international, including 100 personalities from the Italian and international academic world, 45 economists, 6 Nobel laureates, 66 representatives of institutions, 17 ministers of the Italian government and more than 60 representatives of the economic and financial business community. This year's theme, "Risks and fatal choices. Europe at the crossroads", proved apt for investigating the uncertainties of the contemporary world and trying to trace possible solutions and answers. It was a high-tech festival during which about 170 audio and video technicians were engaged in the 22 locations to ensure on-demand broadcasting of almost all the events and of these more than 200 in live streaming. Simultaneous translation of events in non-Italian languages through an innovative remote system was also confirmed. A good result also on the festival's website and social networks: there were over 42,000 views of online events between live (+15% compared to the 2024 edition) and video on demand (+9%). The festival's social channels saw the constant management and preservation of 4 channels. The content posted overall on the Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts was extremely popular, reaching a virality of more than 2.2 million views, through the publication of about 730 pieces of content, totaling more than 40,000 interactions. During the festival, the 160th anniversary of the daily newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore was also celebrated with various initiatives. Around 190 press releases were produced, including 22 in English and German, around 5,000 photo shoots, 84 interviews and 94 video services produced on the events. 1,163 subscribers to the festival's media newsletter, plus 80 subscribers to the German-language one and 13 to the English-language translation. Moreover, 368 journalists and operators were accredited this year, of whom 262 were present in Trento, with reporters from the most important local and national newspapers. Initial press review data to date count a total of 522 articles in the various newspapers, 3,500 web articles and 183 radio and television reports. The 2025 edition of the festival also recorded a historical record number of partners in the event: 52 business partners joined, plus eight media partners. Finally, about 1,200 high school students from the Province of Trento and from outside Trento attended the festival. An extraordinary participation that saw them follow with great interest not only the many events dedicated to them but also the more technical and scientific ones scheduled, confirming the kermesse's centrality in the Italian and world economic scene.
