At the Museo degli Innocenti in Florence, the Galleries of Frescoes has reopened after decades. It houses works by various Tuscan masters, including detached frescoes by Lorenzo Monaco from the early fifteenth century and Alessandro Allori's pictorial cycle for the chapel of the Ospedale delle Donne in Santa Maria Nuova in 1576, with episodes from the Old Testament and six monumental prophet figures that refer to Michelangelo's frescoes in the Vatican's Sistine Chapel. The exhibition improves the close-up perspective of the pieces by placing many of them at a "lowered" height. In addition to the Galleries of Frescoes, the nuns' Chapel and the prior's two chambers have been restored and are now equipped with the required technology for cultural activities. The museum now has a new website in both Italian and English.
