Italy has been confirmed as the European leader in the number of female entrepreneurs, with over 1.4 million women leading economic activities, accounting for 23% of the overall number of enterprises. This is based on Unioncamere data processed by the CGIA of Mestre, which places our country ahead of Germany, France and Spain. An increasingly important role is played by the South of Italy, as female entrepreneurship exhibits a level of vitality that surpasses the national average, thereby contributing to the economic and social advancement of numerous areas. In spite of this encouraging trend, there are still structural impediments, including the difficulty of accessing credit, the absence of a presence in advanced technological sectors, and the difficulties associated with balancing work and family responsibilities.
