Called the Miceli Arts Foundation, the new New York landmark dedicated to promoting music, art and young talent is inspired by the vision of maestro Stefano Miceli, a leading figure in the contemporary music scene. "Maestro Miceli's example represents guidance and inspiration in New York for entire generations," said Roderick Williams, vice president of the foundation. Indeed, Miceli distinguished himself not only as a conductor and pianist, but also as a mentor, educator and cultural promoter. The goal of the Miceli Arts Foundation is to become a catalyst for opportunities to support and enhance artistic talent through scholarships, educational programs, concert productions and international collaborations. Among the foundation's initiatives is the birth of the New York Academy Orchestra, the official ensemble of the Miceli Arts Foundation, which will debut on November 6 with W.A. Mozart's Requiem Mass at Saint Patrick's Cathedral in the heart of Manhattan.
