Antonio Filosa has been chosen as the new CEO of Stellantis by the company's Board of Directors. The decision, it is explained, was made unanimously, "following an in-depth search process for internal and external candidates conducted by a special Special Committee of the Board of Directors led by Chairman John Elkann". The Board of Directors selected Antonio Filosa as CEO on the basis of his more than 25 years of worldwide experience in the automotive industry, his knowledge of the company, and his leadership qualities. Filosa will assume the powers of CEO as of June 23 when he will also announce Stellantis' new management team. John Elkann will continue in the role of Executive Chairman. With a degree in engineering from Milan Polytechnic, 52 years old and of Neapolitan descent, Filosa's resume speaks of a career at FIAT that began in 1999 and a long experience within the company that led him to positions of increasing responsibility and knowledge of the complicated Stellantis machine. He was the first Italian to lead Jeep in 2023, resolving its fortunes in the U.S. market. From 2016 to 2018, the manager led FIAT Chrysler's industrial and commercial operations in Argentina and headed the Alfa Romeo and Maserati brands for Latin America. In March 2018, he was appointed head of FCA's Latin American operations. With the establishment of Stellantis in 2021, Filosa joined the company's top executive team.
