Oscar Piastri is the star of the 2025 Barcelona Grand Prix: the McLaren driver takes a chaotic and spectacular victory, his fifth of the season, ahead of teammate Lando Norris. A McLaren one-two, then, and strengthened world leadership for the Australian, who now leads the standings with 186 points, 10 more than Norris. Third across the line was Charles Leclerc, author of a fine final duel with Verstappen after the Safety Car restart caused by Andrea Kimi Antonelli's retirement. But the podium remains in the balance: the Monegasque is under investigation by the FIA, and could be demoted. In that case to take the podium would be George Russell, 4th at the finish. Heavy penalty for Max Verstappen, who after a contact with Russell receives 10 seconds and slips from 5th to 10th place overall. A brilliant Nico Hülkenberg, 5th with the Sauber, takes advantage, ahead of Lewis Hamilton (6th), penalized by an undercut at the second stop. Completing the Top 10: Hadjar (7th), Gasly (8th) and a rediscovered Fernando Alonso (9th), applauded by the home crowd. Next stop: GP of Canada in two weeks, with an increasingly fiery World Championship.
