Dries Van Noten, a Belgian designer, has acquired Palazzo Pisani Moretta on the Grand Canal in Venice with the intention of transforming it into a center for art and craftsmanship. Maurizio Sammartini restored the residence at the end of the twentieth century, revitalizing its architecture, interiors, furnishings, and art collection. It has since become one of Venice's most iconic structures, hosting weddings, anniversaries, and private parties (it was also the location of the filming of "The Tourist," starring Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. The Palace will serve as the focal point of an initiative that encourages artistic exploration, cultural exchange, and craftsmanship. The project will promote ongoing communication between artists and artisans by hosting exhibitions and conferences, providing a platform for modern work and inviting the public to a site where legacy is valued and designed to be repurposed for future generations. The palace, located midway between the Rialto Bridge and Ca' Foscari, is a hallmark of Venetian elegance and artistic excellence: its interiors are adorned with works by the finest Venetian artists of the eighteenth century, including Giambattista Tiepolo.
