After weeks of rumors and uncertainty, the official news has arrived: Simone Inzaghi will no longer be Inter's coach. The coach from Piacenza informed the club’s management of his decision to accept a multi-million euro offer from Saudi club Al Hilal, which is ready to offer him a net salary of around €25 million per season. The meeting between Inzaghi and CEO Beppe Marotta marked the end of their partnership. "I would like to thank Simone for the work done, for the passion shown and for the sincerity in today's discussion, which led to the common decision to separate our paths", Marotta stated following the meeting's conclusion. The former coach also spoke with emotion: "In these four years, I have given everything; Inter has always been my first and last thought of the day. On a difficult day like this, I feel it’s right to reiterate my gratitude to everyone. I will never forget you". A new chapter has now begun for Inter. The administration is looking for the next coach who will lead the club in the upcoming season and at the Club World Cup. At the top of the shortlist is Cesc Fàbregas, currently managing Como, though the options of Roberto De Zerbi, Cristian Chivu, and Patrick Vieira remain open.
