It opened under the name "Alla Venezia Trionfante", but soon people began referring to the establishment under the porticoes of the Procuratie Nuove by the nickname of its owner: Florian. The interior rooms are still the result of the nineteenth-century reconstruction, which was overseen by the Academy of Fine Arts' architect Lodovico Cadorin. Different themed rooms were created: the Chinese Room, the Seasons Room, the Senate Room, the Liberty Room, the Hall of Illustrious Men. Each with its own unique features. . There's also an outdoor deck where visitors can listen to music while admiring St. Mark's Basilica. Given the location's global popularity, there is also a modest section dedicated to the selling of historical items, which may also be obtained on the internet. Not only chocolate, tea, and coffee, but also hot chocolate mugs or coffee cups bearing the Venetian symbol: the winged lion of the Serenissima. The menu includes sandwiches, lavish breakfasts (like the Casanova), massive and luxurious ice cream sundaes, small lunch dishes, biscuits, and single-portion desserts. Teas, herbal infusions, and cocktails. One can come here for breakfast, brunch, or even afternoon tea. Florian also has two locations in Taiwan, where its brand has been exported. It is still very common, during Carnival, to visit Florian wearing the most eccentric and elaborate masks.
