In the Naples Navy dockyard, the Lorkinos was launched — a former deep-sea fishing boat confiscated from organized crime and now converted into an inclusive floating laboratory for people with disabilities. Confiscated by the Guardia di Finanza in 2021, the 24-meter-long vessel was transformed as a result of the Isolahabile project, the first inclusive "Naval Living Lab" in the Mediterranean. The Lorkinos will be moored at the Guardia di Finanza pier in Nisida, where it will be equipped with lifts to facilitate access to the sea and on board, as well as accessible toilets and reconfigured spaces for sports, cultural, and educational activities. This summer, it will hold workshops for children with disabilities, promoting access to the water and maritime culture through activities such as wind reading, compass navigation, and nautical signage. Defense Minister Guido Crosetto praised the Lorkinos initiative, describing it as "a flagship of accessibility", and organizations including HSA Scuba Italia and No Limits Asd also provided support for the project. “On board", explains Enrico Perillo, creator of Isolahabile, “every project is a route towards inclusion: it is not people who are limited, but the barriers that society imposes".
