Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni reiterated the solidity of the governing majority during “The Day of Truth” event at Palazzo Brancaccio, saying, "Compactness is measured by the answers we give, and we have given many. I work so that this legislature comes to an end with this government". Regarding the referendums, Meloni said she will go to the polls out of institutional respect but will not pick up her ballot, stressing that abstention is a right. She also expressed her opposition to halving the time for granting citizenship, considering the current law adequate. On the European front, she remarked, "Italy is not the spare tire of France and Germany. We are a great nation and we must cooperate as equals". As for the regional elections, she downplayed their political weight: "They are not diriment. Today we are 11-3". Finally, on the conflict in Gaza, Meloni took a clear position: "Israel's response has taken on unacceptable contours. It must stop now and protect civilians".
