Fabio Pisacane is the new coach of Cagliari. After Nicola's farewell, now the official announcement has come: "Cagliari Calcio is pleased to announce that it has entrusted the technical leadership of the first team to Fabio Pisacane: the coach has signed a contract that binds him to the Rossoblù club until June 30, 2026 with automatic renewal for a further season upon the occurrence of certain sporting conditions". This is the first experience on a bench in Serie A for the young coach, who was at the technical helm of the youth soccer team last year. Born in Naples, 39, Pisacane totaled more than 430 games as a player in the professional ranks, including more than 150 with the Cagliari shirt. Arriving in Sardinia in the summer of 2015, he played in the Rossoblù for six seasons in which he contributed to the team's early rise to A - with victory in the cadet tournament - and to the team's stay in the top flight over the next five championships. With his playing career over, he immediately began his coaching career, again in the red and blue. In July 2022 he joined the staff of the first team as a technical collaborator, in 2023 he took over the leadership of the youth soccer team: for two consecutive seasons he achieved with his boys seventh place in the standings, coming within a whisker of access to the Scudetto playoffs, and above all he won the Italian Cup in his category - for the first time in the club's history - beating Milan (3-0) in the final at the “Brera” Arena in Milan.
