The Nas carabinieri performed a major control operation in 1,160 aesthetic medicine centers around the country, revealing serious anomalies. In total, 14 structures were seized, and 104 individuals, including owners and operators, were reported to judicial authorities. During the checks, medical instruments and pharmaceuticals totaling 3.5 million euros were seized. Some websites, frequently located on foreign servers, that promoted prescription medications, which could only be sold in pharmacies and used under stringent health supervision, were also blocked. The operation revealed 32 criminal offenses, including abusive practice of the health profession, unlawful clinic openings, use of expired or hospital-only drugs, and falsification of professional certificates. In addition, 156 administrative penalties were imposed for violations of regional and sector regulations, resulting in a total of 130 thousand euros in sanctions. Among the most severe instances reported, in Northern Italy, the Nas of Milan discovered a facility with a multi-specialty and aesthetic clinic operating without any authorization. Additionally, the Nas of Rome reported a person at the Center who performed beauty treatments without a valid health license. In the South, the Nas in Naples seized areas and equipment inside a pharmacy where an illegal aesthetic center had been set up.
