Franzo Grande Stevens, the Agnelli family's trusted lawyer - known as “the Lawyer's lawyer” - and a major adviser to the nation's economic power has died at 96 in Turin. Born in Naples in 1928, Grande Stevens was closely linked to the history of FIAT as a close associate of Giovanni Agnelli. "Franzo Grande Stevens was a sublime jurist, a great Juventus fan, and above all a friend of my family, who accompanied us for many years with professionalism, intelligence and deep culture. We embrace with affection his entire family," John Elkann, Chairman of Stellantis and CEO of Exor, said in a note. A member of the Bar since 1954, a professor of criminal law and a civilist by training, Grande Stevens was a key player in some of the most sensitive transactions in Italian finance, from the entry of Libyan Lafico into FIAT to the IFIL-Exor equity swap of 2005.
