During the talks, the two leaders discussed the latest developments in Iran, sharing the need to reopen diplomatic dialogue. Meloni also stressed the urgency of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, at a particularly delicate time for regional balance. Economic relations between Europe and the United States were also among the topics discussed, with a focus on the EU-US trade negotiations. The meeting was also an opportunity to exchange views ahead of the upcoming NATO summit in The Hague.
