Summer 2025 is shaping up to be a season of sacrifice for many Italian workers. According to the most recent data, 70% of employed individuals have decided not to go on vacation, citing the high cost of living, which continues to place a burden on family finances. Despite the desire for a vacation, growing costs - not only for flights and lodging, but also for everyday necessities - have persuaded a sizable majority of Italians to stay at home. This is also supported by research: 68% of individuals who stop travelling do so for economic reasons, with 65% citing the inability to bear the costs. And things aren't much better for those who do go on vacation: over a third (29%) will go into debt to treat themselves to a few days off, according to the Summer Travel Survey 2025 results. Globally, young Americans are likewise holding back: only 46% intend to travel this summer. In this challenging situation, an alternative is growing: corporate summer camps. In 2025, enrollments increased by 20%. A solution that addresses the requirement for many families to balance money with managing their children's time throughout the summer.
