Trade tensions between the United States, China, and Europe are having a real impact on the Italian economy, notably on small businesses, restaurateurs, and freelancers. According to SumUp's Small Business Observatory, seven out of ten entrepreneurs report negative effects on their enterprises. The primary obstacles consist of rising supply costs, delivery delays, and the necessity of reevaluating their supply network. Almost half of the individuals interviewed have experienced an increase in the cost of materials and transportation, while more than 20% have been compelled to reduce the diversity of their offerings or switch to different suppliers. The uncertain climate has also had an impact on demand: many customers have cut back on spending and are more price sensitive. A decrease in regular purchases has been observed by 48% of merchants, while a third have observed a greater inclination to seek out promotions and more affordable alternatives.
