With these words, spoken at the end of his general audience, Pope Leo issued a new and heartfelt appeal for peace. The Pontiff urged not to give in to habituation to conflict: “We must not become accustomed to war,” he said, stressing the urgency of “rejecting as a temptation the allure of powerful and sophisticated armaments”. A clear message against military escalation and indifference, in favor of a culture of dialogue and reconciliation.
