An attempt to introduce twenty cell phones inside the Rossano prison was foiled thanks to an unforeseen event: the drone used for the transport malfunctioned and crashed near the gatehouse cage, in front of the eyes of the officers on duty. The aircraft was carrying a bucket containing the devices, which was later recovered by law enforcement officers. The incident, which occurred in recent days, was not an isolated one: during checks, officers also found a smartphone hidden in a container inside the facility.
