An innovative project, MuviMov – Museo del Viaggio in Movimento (Museum of Travel in Motion), is now operational in Turin. This project converts city trams into itinerant museum spaces, providing residents and visitors with an immersive experience to explore the city's cultural heritage and history. Through the free Tellingstones app, available in multiple languages, passengers can access geolocated content that automatically activates near stops. The initiative, developed by Espereal Technologies with the support of the Tocc - Next Generation EU call and in collaboration with the City of Turin, GTT, and the Turin Historical Tramways Association, allows you to listen to stories, view over 500 historical photographs, and discover curiosities about the Piedmont capital's urban and social evolution. After the pilot experience on the Sassi-Superga Tramway and the extension announced for 2024 to Line 7, the project has expanded to cover more than 120 stops across the city. A noteworthy innovation is the direct involvement of Turin's leading museums: directors from institutions such as the Museum of Cinema, Palazzo Madama, the Royal Museums, MAUTO, and the Museum of the Risorgimento participate in video interviews. Turismo Torino also contributes with insights on hospitality services.
