With the arrival of high temperatures, starting Monday, June 23, the 1500 heatwave helpline, made available by the Ministry of Health in collaboration with INAIL, will be active again. The service, which is free of charge and active Monday through Friday, from 9am to 5pm, provides informational support to citizens on how to protect themselves from heat-related risks, with a focus on the most vulnerable segments of the population. Operators will offer prevention advice, guidance on local services activated by regions and municipalities, guidance on protecting the health of sun-exposed workers, and medical and health support thanks to the involvement of the Ministry's health managers. The helpline is part of the actions included in the Summer Heat Plan 2025, already operational since the end of May. Until mid-September, heat wave bulletins are available on the Ministry of Health website, as well as a decalogue with ten useful tips for dealing with high temperatures. The plan also makes use of active health surveillance systems throughout the country, which allow real-time monitoring of emergency room admissions and daily mortality, so that timely action can be taken in case of an emergency.
