Global wealth is expanding, and so is the number of millionaires in Italy, which now stands at 1.3 million. This is the takeaway from the UBS Global Wealth Report 2025. In 2024, Italy's average wealth per adult, measured in euros, increased by 3.81% net of inflation. Overall, Italy ranks 23rd in terms of average adult wealth measured in dollars. When considering the composition of wealth, financial values comprise just under 46% of the total aggregate wealth, non-financial values (such as real estate and land) account for just under 62%, and debts amount to 7.6%, a very low figure by international comparison. In terms of dollar millionaires, Italy has just over 1.3 million. According to UBS, during the next 20-30 years, Italy will see an increase in wealth transmitted between generations as well as within the same generation (from husband to widow/widower), totaling over 2,300 billion euros, or more than a fifth of the country's total private wealth.
