The Regional Administrative Court of Abruzzo has partially accepted an appeal filed against the outcome of the 2024 municipal elections in Pescara, ordering that the mayor's and city councilors' proclamation acts be annulled. The judges discovered anomalies in 27 electoral sections, necessitating a re-vote. In the interim, the current municipal administration will continue in office, but only for regular administration and urgent and non-postponable acts, pending the new formal proclamation. Further judicial developments are not ruled out: the magistrates have, in fact, transmitted the acts to the Public Prosecutor's Office to evaluate the potential existence of criminal offenses related to the events.
