A poll confirms Fratelli d’Italia’s lead with 29%, maintaining a margin of just over 5 points over the Democratic Party, which follows at 23.5%. The 5 Star Movement stands at 12%. The other two government parties are marginally down: Forza Italia (8.9%) and Lega (8.6%). Alleanza Verdi Sinistra has 6.5%, while the other parties are still below 3%. Despite losing one point in recent weeks, the Premier's party has maintained consensus since June. The party of abstention is expanding: the Demopolis institute predicts that if a general election were to take place today, fewer than 28 million electors would participate, while 20 million would remain at home. At the start of the summer, Italians are most concerned about four things: rising living costs, war-related hazards and uncertainties, major issues in public health, beginning with very long waiting lists, and city safety. A final point to consider is the electoral weight of the two coalitions: if the election were held today, both the centre-right and centre-left would receive 47.5%.
