Per capita consumption is 2 kg per year, while overall sales in the period January-December 2024 were 3.7 billion portions, indicating significant stability compared to the previous year. The distribution network includes approximately 100,000 bars spread across the country. Italy owns the European record for the value of industrial ice cream production. Exports also play a part, with 95,348 tonnes crossing national borders, worth 388 million euros. Europe continues to be the preferred destination, accounting for 65% of exports. However, there is no shortage of unexpected destinations abroad, with the United States and the United Kingdom at the top of the list, followed by Germany, Spain, and France.
