“I'm going to bring Americans back to sailing,” says Massimo Perotti, President and CEO of Sanlorenzo shipyards, at the world's top in megayacht construction. To do so, he will use one of the industry's iconic brands, the Finnish Nautor Swan, with all its subsidiaries, which Perotti bought. “We have signed two important agreements just in the United States,” Perotti explained when interviewed by Affari & Finanza magazine, "because we want Swan to become a player again. The brand in the 1980s and 1990s was the first sailing brand in the United States, but then Americans kind of lost the habit of sailing. We want this to restart in the best way". Sanlorenzo has signed an agreement with American Magic, the U.S. sailing team founded in 2017 to represent the New York Yacht Club for participation in the America's Cup, and in parallel has decided to open Nautor Swan offices in the U.S. to sell boats produced in Italy, in the Viareggio shipyard. A double move that can strengthen the business of the group, which is active in Italy with yards distributed between Liguria and Tuscany.
