Congresses are becoming an increasingly important item in the Italian tourism economy. In fact, they are all on the rise according to the research data that annually defines the trend of the sector: the events held in Italy in 2024 were 367,981, an increase of +8.2% compared to 2023. Also growing are the two most significant items to define the value of events and congresses: attendees were 29,264,953 (+7.8% compared to 2023) and attendance 47,213,261 (+12.9% compared to 2023). The sector's growth positively impacts not only the companies involved in organizing events and congresses but the entire economy of the country system. In fact, according to a recent research promoted by ENIT, the direct economic contribution of the sector is worth a total of 11 billion 746 million euros.
