On Monday morning, a second fire broke out in Fiumicino, affecting the shipyard of the "Liburna", a life-size wooden replica of an old Roman battleship. The flames damaged a wooden shed and a warehouse that housed the construction equipment, but fortunately they did not reach the imposing 33-meter-long vessel. For years, the shipyard on Via del Faro has been a historical and educational hotspot, drawing scholars and school groups. The damage, while not immediately threatening the ship, is a significant setback for the project, which is currently without critical instruments to continue building and restoration work. The causes of the fire are still being investigated, but it is yet another incident that has raised the alarm about safety in the neighborhood.
