A new centrist party is about to emerge in Italy. It was established in September 2024 as the political association "Drin Drin," which was created by the economist Michele Boldrin and the entrepreneur Alberto Forchielli. The group has now taken another step toward becoming a political party, with its members approving a new statute. The "Drinners" voted in over 10,000 members, which is approximately 70% of the roughly 15,000 members. They also selected their territorial coordinators and the 374 delegates who will elect the secretary, assembly, and board of directors at the upcoming congress in the autumn. This will complete the party’s founding phase. Innovation, productivity, and demographic growth are the primary objectives of the program, as well as the reform of education, public administration, and pensions. Additionally, the program is dedicated to the energy transition to nuclear power and the promotion of pro-Ukraine and pro-European international positions.
