Dramatic morning at Orio al Serio Airport, where air traffic was disrupted for about two hours due to the death of a man on the runway. Flights resumed around noon, but the entire airport was paralyzed for a long time, with many flights diverted to Milan Malpensa, Verona and Bologna. According to what has been reconstructed so far, the victim was reportedly sucked into the engine of an Airbus A319 belonging to the Volotea airline, which was departing for Asturias, Spain. The investigators' main hypothesis is that of suicide. The man would not appear to be among either airport employees or passengers, but he allegedly managed to sneak into the security area, running toward the moving aircraft. Police, who had noticed the suspicious presence, reportedly tried to stop him, but failed to prevent him from reaching the runway. Still to be clarified is how he managed to gain access to the secured airport area.
