Giuseppe Crippa, known as 'Peppino', has passed away. He was the founder of one of Italy's most innovative industrial groups and one of the most important globally in the chip manufacturing supply chain. Born in Robbiate in 1935, he joined Sgs in Agrate (now STMicroelectronics) in 1960. During challenging years, he helped revive the Agrate plant on a global scale. In his time at Sgs, Crippa had extensive experience in the field of semiconductors, transistors, and other "volatile" technologies, and he was able to continue his training at the company's American headquarters. He retired in 1993, but as a native of Brianza who was forward-thinking, he chose to stay active rather than relaxing. Starting from scratch, he founded Technoprobe, installing the first devices in his home garage. In 1995, the company was officially registered, becoming the first Italian firm specializing in the production of probe cards, a fundamental component in the semiconductor manufacturing process. He embarked on a journey that would propel this company to become one of the world's leaders in its field. At present, Technoprobe has 23 registered offices worldwide and is present in 10 countries and 3 continents. It is a technological hub of research and innovation that is continuously expanding, with over 600 certified patents, 4 research centers, and approximately 3300 employees.
