The Barilla group presented its new Sustainability Report 2024, a set of achievements to date, plus goals to be met by 2030. Among the milestones achieved in the past year are: products with less salt and more fiber, the involvement of more than 7,000 farmers for more sustainable agriculture, and about 50% of electricity consumed coming from renewable sources. With a 2024 turnover of nearly 4.9 billion euros, Barilla intends to reach a supply of 250 thousand tons of raw materials from regenerative agriculture; install, through the energy & water plan, additional plants for self-production from renewable sources equal to 24 mw (currently self-production stands at 4 mw); increase water recycling to +250% in water-stressed areas (in the past two years alone, the volume of water recovered has increased by +164%); decrease the material used for packaging by up to 4 thousand tons through eco-design projects; achieve in 90% of volumes sold a maximum of 0.5 grams of salt per serving, while 95% will be fiber.
