Anyone who willfully refuses to answer questions during the high school graduation oral exam will no longer receive their diploma. This was announced by Education Minister Giuseppe Valditara in anticipation of one of the new provisions of the state exam reform that is presently being considered. The minister referenced the case of two students from Veneto who, having confidence in their scholastic and written scores, chose to remain silent during the oral and final exam. "Such behavior will no longer be possible", Valditara asserted, noting that the new rule will require active participation in the oral test. He also stated that the forthcoming reform will support the one on school curricula, with the objective of enhancing the educational value of exams and combating attitudes that are perceived as disrespectful of the commitment that students are expected to make.
